When I was on the college radio station years ago doing a late night punk/new wave/alternative show called Radio Free Texas, I used to start each of my shows by singing "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood." Today is a very sad day in the neighborhood. But as Mister rogers says, it's alright to cry. Which is a good thing because I'm going to be doing a lot of it today.

In other news, does anyone else remember the cartoon Jace and the Wheeled Warriors? Just wondering.

I have a passing familiarity with the character, but I'm not what you would call a big Iron Man fan. Nonetheless, I am appalled; perhaps even outraged at the news that Leonardo DeCrapio may be playing Tony Stark in an Iron Man movie. Is Kevin Smith the only person in Hollywood who has ever actually read a comic book? Dear God, it’s almost a stupid as the Nicholas Cage as Superman atrocity. Maybe they could do an Avengers movie with Justin Timberlake as the Vision, Britney Spears as The Scarlet Witch, Ashton Kutcher as Thor and Seann William Scott as Captain America. I’d better not say any more or they’ll do it.

And now a haiku about my day.

Bulldozer, truck, snow
See your tax dollars at work
Clean up nature's mess

And here's another.

Favorite hat lost
Hat found before too long
Happy happy hat

And lest we become too pretentious

Christ, I hate haiku
Pretentious and annoying
No, seriously

Thirty inches of snow today. Judas priest!!! When are we going to get those giant domes put up over the cities so we won't have to deal with all this nature crap. Seriously, who was in charge of the dome project? 'cause they've been seriously slacking.

My Mac is fianlly out of the shop. It's not making any funny noises or anything. Horay.

I'm having great frustration with my home computer. I've been a big Mac advocate for years and recommend them to all my friends. But my iMac will only be a year old next month and the hard drive has needed replacing twice in that time. It's in the shop now. Last time the replaced both the hard drive and disk drive. What the hell? How am I supposed to convince the unwashed masses that Mac is the way to go when my own keeps dying?

The biggest frustration is that I've been trying to finish some writing projects so I can sell something and quit my crappy day job. Everytime I get all motivated and ready to go the damn iMac decides it want's to thwart my destiny. Damn lazy machine.

My current project is what will most likely be a series of books about the adventures of a little girl called Infinity Jane. She's sort of a modern Pippy Longstocking, but probably more violent. (I guess that would be the modern part.)

In other news, I'm not at all happy about the impending war. Christ, our president is an idiot. Does he really think he's fooling anyone with this orwellian "War is Peace" nonsense? They say every society gets the leaders it deserves. Well, I'd like to officially resign from society because I don't deserve this crap. Oh, and let's try some of that trickle down BS while we're at it, since it worked so well the last time.

Ok, finally got the template lined up right. It's snowing here in NYC and time for me to leave work. I'll have to leave the brilliant insights until Monday since my computer at home is on the blink.

Hi, I'm Dominic and this is my blog. Just testing it right now. More later.
